About Me

Raleigh, NC
Born in Richmond, Virginia, grew up in Kernersville, North Carolina, and now reside in Raleigh. I attribute most of my fishing prowess to my father, who took me fishing often as a child. We would regularly do float trips on the James River in Virginia, which is where I learned to love canoeing and river fishing. Unfortunately, my father has passed, but he lives on through my passion for chasing fish from my canoes. I intend to pass this love for fishing and the outdoors onto my children and can't wait to share these experiences with them. I currently have 4 canoes: Customized Old Town Guide 119, Customized Mohawk 16 Royalex, Coleman Scanoe, and 12' Indian River Solo.

Trusty Goat

Last year we ran into this goat, or maybe it's his brother, but none-the-less I was surprised to see it. How do goats get on islands in the middle of the river? Got me!

Now, as far as the fishing, it wasn't the best day I've had. However, Dave and I had a great float. He caught a few small bass on flies that he tied as well as his first striper!  I got a small striper and several good largemouth.

Great times on the water with an old friend. Look forward to fishing with you again Dave!

I actually did this float this weekend. We saw the same goat too (at least I would assume it is the same one). Couldn't find any stripers, but caught some nice largemouths. If you are heading back up that way this fall, let me know.
